FAQ

Questions people ask first

Do I need a company in Lebanon?

No. Cedar Hire is the legal employer. You need nothing in Lebanon except the person you want to hire.

How are people paid?

In US dollars, monthly, in Lebanon. We handle the transfer and the payslip. Your hire chooses the account.

What does the NSSF mean for me?

The National Social Security Fund is Lebanon's social security. Employers must register staff and pay contributions. We do both, and the cost is passed through at cost on your invoice.

Can I hire someone who is not Lebanese?

Yes, with a work permit. We apply for it and it adds time to the start date. Ask us before you make the offer.

What if it does not work out?

Lebanese law sets notice periods and end-of-service pay. We tell you the number before you hire, and we handle the exit if it comes to that.

How fast can someone start?

If you bring the person, usually within two weeks. If we recruit, add the time it takes to find the right one.

Where is my hire's place of work?

Their home, or a desk at one of our six offices. Either way they have a registered address on their contract.
